MISSION STATEMENT, POSITION DESCRIPTION, APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Mission Statement/Purpose

The mission/purpose of the newly established Freshwater Ponds Advisory Committee is to advise the Select Board and Town Manager on the protection and preservation of Falmouth’s freshwater ponds and to recommend goals, strategies, action steps, and measurable outcomes that can be integrated into the Town’s overall Strategic Plan. 

 

Appointment of Members

The Freshwater Ponds Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the Select Board in accordance with relevant provisions of the Falmouth Home Rule Charter and Town bylaws. 

 

Number, Terms, and Qualifications of Members

The Committee shall consist of five (5) members and two (2) alternates. The term of office is three-years. Members may serve up to three consecutive terms. The Select Board shall seek individuals who possess the following knowledge and skills in recruiting and appointing members to this Committee:

 

 

Members shall have a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a group process with volunteers, community members, and public officials. Members are expected to attend public meetings and occasional site visits.  

 

Meeting Schedule: Meeting frequency, day of week and time of day to be determined by Committee

Where: Town Hall or Public Library (location to be determined in consultation with Town Manager)

 

How to Apply/Application Deadline: Applications are available on the Town website at https://www.falmouthma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/5363/Application-Package-for-Board-Committee-Commission The preferred deadline for applications is Friday, March 29, 2024, at 4:30p.m. in the Office of the Select Board, 59 Town Hall Square.
